Holy cats! It seems we've been extremely negligent of this section of the website (as well as others). I just wanted to let everyone know that we're not dead - we're just hibernating. We're working pretty hardcore on new material- some is surviving, some is falling by the wayside, most of it is transforming all the time. So we're excited about that.

We have some pretty great shows coming up. At the end of August we have a show with the Dandy Warhols at the Majestic. The show is sponsored by Jack Daniels. It's invite only, so if you want to go you have to get yourself invited- you can't just pay at the door. We can't link to the page for legal reasons, but if you're already on the internet I'm sure you can figure it out (I would suggest Googling Jack Daniels Studio No7). We're also opening up for Andrew Bird at Overture Hall in September as part of the Forward Music Festival.

We're also on Twitter. So if you're mad at us for not updating more, join us.

Until Next Time....

PYG cover M.I.A

We recently recorded a cover of M.I.A.'s "Paper Planes" for the CokemachineGlow.com Fantasy Podcast. We recorded it at the Science of Sound studio after returning from the tour. You can stream the podcast or download it here. You can download our version of the song here.

In other, less interesting news, we are now on Facebook. You can become a "fan" and "dedicate" tracks by going here.

Happy Holidays!

Hello! We have a tour blog! Beth, Gwen, Brett, Mike and I (Matt) will be documenting our time on the road with a new-fangled web page. You can go to it here or by dragging http://paleyounggentlemen.wordpress.com into your address bar. As of this posting, we just have a tour date listing, but by Oct 4 or so, we should have some new juicy gossip for you to tell your co-workers around the water-cooler. See ya there!

As you can probably tell, updates to the site are infrequent at best, but I do have a bit of news that I thought you'd like to hear. Our second album, titled "Black Forest (tra la la)" will be released on Oct 7 on Science of Sound (see below). The album represents a new turn, an evolution for PYG, and we're very excited to share it with you. Coinciding with the release, we'll be touring the entire United States, or at least a whole lot of it, in October and November. I'll be updating the "shows" section with those dates as soon as everything is finalized. And if I find the gumption, you'll find other changes here and at our sister site in the upcoming months.

Pale Young Gentlemen is pleased to announce that they have signed with Science of Sound, an independent record label based in Madison, WI.

From March 10-15, PYG were hard at work in the basement studio of SOS putting together a rough demo of what will become their second LP, which, of course, will be released by SOS. You can see pictures from those busy days here.

The tentative release of the album will be in Fall of '08, so keep your eyes peeled!
